HAPPY? NEW? Year

I have been silent for a while dealing with the burdens of life. Yes, like all of my readers (a few thousand) I have a life that is challenging and full of pitfalls and potential let-downs. I have never earned a living or even really “made money” from doing the WORK of educating others about health, counseling them or even in the supply of world-class, impossible to be found anywhere supplements that have no peers.

Sound a bit arrogant? Well… I am just trying to be a bit more like my friends and readers insist I MUST be. I am telling it the way it is regarding the value of my tools and the value of my service. Let’s see how that works. At the end of this article I am going to suggest how you can help, if you are inclined.

Back to the “script”… Is this going to be a HAPPY new year for you? Are you HAPPY now? You know… what you KNOW isn’t what really matters, it is what you DO? If you want to DO something, you first have to BE something. If you want to BE happy then you MUST set your mind and your attitude to BE what you want to be and you will find that as you think on what you want to be daily with passion and determination… that without even understanding HOW you will simply BEcome what you wanted to BE. Then from your BEing… you will DO happiness.

Secrets of Happy People

Being able to manifest positive emotions and happiness is perhaps one of the greatest gifts you have been given as a living BEing. But to some extent, being happy is a choice you need to make, much like choosing to exercise or eat right. Happiness comes from within — it’s not meted out by circumstance alone. This is why, if you truly want to be happy, you need to work on yourself first. Interestingly, self-acceptance appears to be one of the most important factors that can produce a more consistent sense of happiness. In a survey 22 of 5,000 people by the charity Action for Happiness, people were asked to rate themselves between 1 and 10 on 10 habits that are scientifically linked to happiness. While all 10 habits were strongly linked to overall life satisfaction, “acceptance” was the strongest predictor. In all, the survey resulted in the following list of 10 Keys to Happier Living, which together spell out the acronym GREAT DREAM:

Giving: Do things for others

Relating: Connect with people

Exercising: Take care of your body

Appreciating: Notice the world around you

Trying out: Keep learning new things

Direction: Have goals to look forward to

Resilience: Find ways to bounce back

Emotion: Take a positive approach

Acceptance: Be comfortable with who you are

Meaning: Be part of something bigger

Don’t Try to Avoid Negative Experiences — Focus on Creating Positive Ones

In order to be happier you might think the first step would be to eliminate negative experiences in your life, but often these are beyond your control. Instead, focus on increasing your positive experiences. This is something that virtually everyone can do. Even ordinary moments can be a source of great pleasure.

For instance, if you have an hour free, do you spend it doing something fun? Or do you spend it catching up on housework, tackling an extra work project, or otherwise working? The latter is a “minor form of insanity,” according to happiness researcher Robert Biswas-Diener, Ph.D.

HAPPY? NEW? Year

Well, now that I have covered HAPPY?… let’s move on to NEW?
What is new? Are YOU new? Are you going to be NEW this year or are you going to be the same old you??? I suppose if you totally loved the old you, then you wouldn’t have to work on Becoming the NEW you! Perhaps NEW and improved? Wouldn’t that be nice. What’s the point of Becoming new if you aren’t going to be improved?? New and un-improved would be just another disappointing version of you. Different but equally un-impressive. Why not choose to be an improved version of you? It’s do-able, just have to apply the same principles outlined above regarding happiness. Identify some aspects of what a new and improved you looks like… what you WANT. Write them down. Begin to see, feel and affirm by reading and speaking these things to yourself daily with passion. Leave your list on the bathroom mirror so you see it first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Before you know it and without understanding precisly HOW you became new and improved… you will be it and DOing it!
